M- That's an interesting question, and I suppose it varies from reporter-to-reporter. I find that on the channel I watch most often, there are some very biased reporters as well as some who are biased (and admit it) yet report the facts.

This isn't a news example, but I think The Daily Show with Jon Stewart has been a compelling show to watch this week due to the Rep. Anthony Weiner Twitter scandal (if you can call it that). Jon is a good personal friend of Anthony Weiner, but he is still reporting (comically) on the issue. He says outright that he is Rep Weiner's friend, and admits that he gives him the benefit of the doubt, but he still questions Weiner's responses to reporters. Again, this isn't a news story, but a good example of someone who can be biased, admit it, but still ask critical thinking questions.

Surely some shows recognize and acknowlege their bias but still demonstrate well practiced critical thinking. Which ones?
